Autograph letter signed : Edinburgh , to John James Ruskin, 1805 Apr. 18.

Telling her son how proud she is of his new position but how worried she is about his health and his lodgings in London; saying that she would have wished he could have settled "at home"; adding "your present situation is certainly a most respectable one and if your health is not impaired by fatigue one which must ultimately be of infinite service to you whether you continue in it or not--there certainly is a chance if you keep your health in London from the respectability of your house that you are placed in a situation which will enable you soon to make your fortune."
